Since May 2019, Bigger Than The Trail has put more than half a million dollars directly into mental health care.
May 2019 through January 2026. A month of therapy means one person supported for one month.
$97,269 paid for counseling from February 2025 through January 2026, split between two local practices and online therapy.
915 sessions with our two local partner practices.
382 sessions through BetterHelp ($18,675) and Mental Fuel ($10,000).
Beyond counseling, 2025 also funded race aid stations ($2,005), a film project ($5,000) and gear giveaways.
From 2 people a month in 2019 to a peak of 85 in March 2022, then toward local, in-person care.
We paid $180 per person per month for online therapy. The average number of people supported each month grew from 1.6 in 2019 to 61 in 2022.
We moved to $75 per session, across BetterHelp and Calmerry, and added in-person support for 35 people at our first local location.
In-person care grew to two locations, and 70 people saw a counselor face to face, alongside 100 people supported online.

2024: $67,500 from 577 donors, plus $33,000 through 25 charity bibs with Wander Project.
Every gift becomes a counseling session, a scholarship, a person who didn't have to face it alone.
